The FS modding world is full of terms, but many of them aren't properly defined.
This is a place for modders and mod editors to add in definitions of various terms used in scripts for FS or used in conversations about FS modding.
I will be contributing to this section myself in the near future!

.xml is a text document used in FS for scripting mods and stock items.
.i3d is a 3D file that contains meshes(models) and nodes for the game to use so you have stuff in the game.
A log is a .txt file that the game writes to tell you the state of the of the game, telling you things such as warnings and errors.
A warning is a line(s) of text telling you of a small, normally performance issue with the game such as a texture size issue or outdated shapes file.
An error is a line(s) of text telling you of a larger issue with the game, such as missing nodes, textures etc.

A .dds file is a texture file for a mod which gives it the ability of closer details, decals or color edits. Often can be edited by programs such as Photoshop, Gimp, or paint.net.
