I think this is the best place for this. As I've mentioned before, I am new to all of this. I have been able to successfully edit some mods to my liking so far and also repair some issues in others.....i.e get mods in the proper categories and fix other things not done right in the modesc so they show as they should in game, get trucks that had no brakes to stop right, adjust speeds more to my liking up or down, and of course edit capacities. Nothing huge to you old pros, but a pretty fair start in a few short months. To be completely honest, I didn't know how to unzip and install a mod when I came across the first one that needed a couple months ago. LOL I've not tackled any handling issues or more advanced things like that so far...really haven't had much need to.
I've been pondering what my next logical step should be. I'm leaning towards thinking conversions would be a good move next. It drives me batty thinking about hundreds of people having to each convert the same mod, but I guess that's what this has come down to. At any rate, there are quite a few FS13 mods I'd like to have for FS15 so I think I could stay busy there and learn a lot that could then be applied to creating something of my own possibly in the future.
Does that sound like the best way to approach things to those of you that have been at it a while? Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.

If so, I'd personally stick with it. Converting backwards the few decent mods that have been released for 15 is going to likely be easier than converting FS 2013 mods to 15. However, if you don't have 13, conversions would definitely be a skill builder. A lot of mods get switched from one game to another, but very few actually are properly converted. I'd love to see what you come up with!

Yes, I have 13. Actually bought it after 15...just seemed like I had missed too much and it was much more drama free. That could be a good approach for me right now. There is much less I personally want from 15 in 13 than vice versa.
