I made this quick video since I get many questions about how to assign textures in Blender.
I probably will do more of these as time allows, but please leave some feedback either in this thread or on YouTube.
And give ideas as well for things you need help with.

Thanks for the video. How do you import materials from giants to blender? Everytime I export a part from ge to blender in OBJ i get no materials. It always defaults to Lambert. Some parts in GE have near 10 different materials but once in blender, only one material. I use export selection with files. Thanks

So you have to manually reassign textures in Blender. Had Giants been more thoughtful, you could export objs with mtl files as can be done from most other 3d manipulating programs, and the resulting file will have its textures when opened in Blender. I wish I had a better answer.

so quick question can you only assign material and texture for i3d export in blender render mode or is it possible to do it in cycles render?
