It starts here!
Modhub.us has masqueraded as a site that hosts mods, but in reality, it is the home of hacked, pirated, and unwarranted mod releases of every kind. The final straw for me was the release of my NH wheel textures on Modhub with my picture, my wording, but without my name in the credits. Even more astonishing is the fact that someone is using the names of people I know well to post offensive remarks about me and others in the community.
They've even taken it so far as to use my name with one of their obscene remarks.
Because Modhub has no method of reporting comments or mods, there's nothing I can do about the credit-less release, but I am going to do something about Modhub.
Sign the petition now, and let's send Modhub to the dustheap of history!
Petition Closed. It failed.

I signed, but I wonder if there is anything that Giants can or will do. To me, a bigger message to Giants would be for modders to with hold their work until something is done. Basically the game is enjoyable and as big as it is because of the modders, and if mods stopped getting released, then Giants would have to react in some way because less people would be interested in this game. It's a very complicated issue, and I've toyed with the idea of locking and password protecting mods, but there is always a way around it. For now, it seems my stuff will be staying on my computer.
One of my mods has ended up on this site already.

The way it looks like to me is that no one gives a crap at all anymore, I mean with so many well know people sharing around the link and info there is still only 290 people that have signed which in my opinion is total BS. So many people want more mods to come out but with all this crap going on I know no one will release a thing, and we have a chance to do something about it and it seems like the whole community is just sitting on there buts doing nothing and expecting things to change on there own, sorry guys it dont work that way. You want the community to be better start by copying the link above and posting it everywhere and getting the word out make people aware and educate others on this crap, lets get the respect back and move forward instead of keep going backwards.

None of my mods will ever see a public release with my permission. Probably not even if modhub is taken down or fixed. The community is way too greedy and not willing to do anything about it. They want mods, they don't care how they get them or who makes them as long as they work.

Not sure if it is scheduled maintenance or something else unrelated, but at this moment modhub is currently offline. Trying to open the site results in: "Error 522 Ray ID: 216af2223d1e0a5a • 2015-08-16 06:05:24 UTC Connection timed out"
Coincidence or results?

Yeah, no change at all.
I am done releasing mods as well: I have spent enough time contributing to this community, and the vast majority of people don't appreciate it. I know many still do, but they are far outnumbered by those who don't.
The strangest thing about Modhub is that people were bashing me and Joe for not releasing things on a mod I released?
That is about as stupid as it gets.

That is about as stupid as it gets. Modhub is a cesspool, no doubt. But I disagree about the vast majority being unappreciative. I think most are, it's just that those who are not are much more vocal and it can seem like that is the collective thought. It sucks. The good folks just play their game and hope it gets better. Those are the people I want to create for. I think this open source is a great approach. I wish more people would get on board with it.

If the problem is not enough people speaking out, then why didn't we get more signatures on that petition? Nobody had to say anything, just sign it. I hate to be so blunt, but I'm sorry, you're wrong. There is an overwhelming gap between those who truely care about the community and the modders who made it, and those who only care about mods. Those of us that want it better for everyone are severely outnumbered and it's only going to get worse. We need a place where only those who really want it better will be allowed, and that's what we're trying to do here. We don't want people who just want mods, we want people to contribute mods and ask for help, learn to mod, etc. here. That's why we're here. If it means we have to run a few people off, that's fine by me, you can't change everyone's mind.
