Cycles is its own beast. It looks way better, example the renders I just posted on here a few days ago, but it's materials and textures aren't done the same way.
The best way that I've found to do a cycles render is to duplicate the model, group the parts of similar colors together, and render in a separate layer. I have yet to find a way to use my Blender Render materials on the cycles side.

thanks for the reply josh. So is there and advantage in mod quality using cycles over blender or just in the look of the render with in blender itself ? the project I started I was texturing everything in cycles but when I export to i3d no textures are there and when I look at the i3d in notepad++ there are no file paths to the textures. Now this being my first real go around with modeling im sure I am doing something wrong, But wouldn't even know where to start fixing the problem. blender render I have no problem exporting to i3d with all file paths and such.

The only advantage is the look of the render itself. If you export with cycles materials, GE will not be able to read the files.
