Hello all. Just wanted to briefly introduce myself. I was introduced to FS15 by a kid of mine and started checking out mods all over the web and finding good, not so bad and just plain horrible mods. I have been messing around with this for about 6 months now and started getting into the Giants editor and trying to fix some mods that have issues as they were good ideas but poorly done. I have also been trying to learn how to modify trucks. Can't find anything really cool that I like that has been made so taking some mods by others and tweaking them if you will.
I took a Peterbilt day cab, stretched the chassis, slammed the cab and suspension, stretched another Pete chassis and sleeper and cannot believe the hours I spent just doing that. So, with that I appreciate and respect the time and efforts by others that went into the original designs. As much as I'd like to show off or share my creative idea I think about the folks that originally made them and refrain from doing so. I know I have seen on other sites guys just taking other folks mods, adding 2000 horsepower and doing all sorts of stupid stuff and when they type in the description it sounds like they have done it, "I bring you".
I'm trying to learn enough about editor, shading, etc., to make my own mods but the how to information is hard to come by so I slowly plug away experimenting, back and forth between the game and editor, saving, deleting and testing. For some reason though it is quite fun and keeps the mind occupied.
With that I will close, thanks to the efforts by those out there that have made some great mods. Look forward to learning anything I can here about how to mod or any info that anybody has would be appreciated!
kind regards

Welcome, cummingsguy71. What a pleasant introduction you had there.
I'm glad to see you around this forum. Hope to see more out of you soon. =)
Plus, I do agree that the whole thing about modding is difficult. But very enjoyable after you get used around it. I'm a beginner to modeling completely myself, and it's very fun!
Please feel free to post in the correct section of the forum if you have concerns, or questions!

Thanks cumminsguy71 for starting us off in a thread we need on this forum: I totally forgot to add an introductions section. We'll make it a permanent part of the forum now.

So introductions I will put mine out there. I have been playing around with Fs13 and 15 for about 2 years now (never really said that out load before haha). I did a tour of duty in the Marine Corp 4 years went to Afghanistan twice got out and went to college on my GI bill. This is were I found Farming Simulator as my class mates all played and I had nothing better to do as the old guy then play with them. I started as most do downloading mods and deciding what works for me and that I needed more and that is were it started.
I have built one mod in Maya and scripted it but it was a very low quality and could not put my name on it so it got deleted. I consider myself a mid level editor as that is what I do the most of now and tring to learn a lot more before I spend time building another mod that will see day light. I enjoy helping and providing assistance with problem I know as long as the person on the other end is helping to. I have a Video channel on Youtube with basic modding tutorial and other Farming Sim related videos that I have made to help people with problems.
With that all being said I enjoy playing the game and playing with mods even though some days I want to drop kick the computer. I look forward to seeing how this site will grow and glad to be part of the new idea of opensource modding.

Thanks for creating this thread cumminsguy71. I had it in my mind, but I just completely forgot about it. So here I will go. I have been playing FS since FS 2011. I was talking to a farmer friend on the bus, and he told me that he just upgraded to a 8 thousand series on John Deere American Farmer Deluxe Edition. This was back when I hated computers and knew nothing about them. I hence wanted to try it. I started looking for the game on Amazon, and was planning to have my dad buy it the next day. I started looking for videos to up the excitement and suspense for when it arrived. Thats when I found most videos of FS 11. I started looking into that more, and noticed that it was way better than the other game. So I help off on the JD game, and proceeded to buy FS 11. I literally stayed up all night watching videos on it because I was so excited to play it. When it finally arrived, I remember sprinting back to our farm house (bare foot over a 3/4 mile gravel lane. Thats how excited I was. OUCH) and remember tearing it out of its package as I was running (almost crashed into a tree). When I got back to the house, I popped it in and started playing it. I remember being confused on the mods and which to DL (.exe or .zip). I started off with .zip, and when I had them almost all downloaded, I figured out I had no idea how to install zip mods. So I redownloaded them all, but exe. Then I still didnt know what to do, so I just clicked on it. It said it was installed, so I just kept doing that. I remember playing the game almost 24/7. The only reason quit was to do morning and night chores (Of course this was over summer so I had nothing to do ). I remember listening to the radio and teddering the fields right next to the river by the dairy farm. (Those were the good ole days). This was in the summer of the year that 13 was going to be released, so when 13 came out that fall, I just ignored it. I ended up getting FS 13 the November of 2013. 2013 is when I installed my first .zip mod after watching a video on how to do it. I remember playing FS 13 on my dads PC in the basement in the winter with a old foot heater and a blanket on weekends staying up till 3 am playing multiplayer with Duramax333 and chatting on Skype. Then I would get off and get up an hour later for chores . Then, I discovered SRSMDS and got off on the wrong foot with him. I think I bothered him too many times and I still remember the not-so-nice message he sent me asking me if I had mental problems . I do think I traded him for his Ford F550 in 13 (Which was my favorite mod ). Since then, I wanted to be friends with him. I created a new account named Diesel Boss and kept my other one a secret. I still never talked to him that much. Then on September 25th 2014, I asked him to join my page American Farming Photography. He gladly accepted, but said he didnt have FB, so we figured something out. Thats when our friendship began. Now, were best friends . And I noticed LMBFarmer's amazing photos since he got his new PC, and asked him to join our page on Thanksgiving of 2014. He was the same concept of SRS. Gladly accepted, but didnt have FB. So we also worked that out. Then I purchased FS 15 before it came out, and have played quite a bit of LMB. Also had our share of "fights". But it always worked out. Now, I talk to LMB every day and SRS every time he is online. SRS and LMB have helped me out with editing MANY of times, which I dont know how to repay them since I dont know how to mod that well. I know how to make some good edits, but all help from SRS and LMB. I bet you thought I forgot about JDB14. Well, I didnt. We got off talking on FB in November of 2014, also, and I offered AFP to him too. He accepted, and started posting amazing photos. He is now one of my most trusted Admins on AFP and I am going to recruit him from a editor back to an admin right now. Yeah, I trust him that much. What? You got a problem with it? Didnt think so. Oorah! We have had two fights now. One minor, and one major. Ended up with him blocking me, calling each other names, and hating each others guts. That lasted for about a week and a half. We since friended each other again and talk now every day during school, which included me getting caught today in English Now onto @boss. We just recently friended each other in January after SRS recommended we invite him to AFP. Since then, we also talk every day. He has also helped me many times with my mods, and even as been awesome enough to give me every mod he has made for testing, and some of this others All very high quality mods. He is a VERY good modder Also, a friend that is not on this forum yet. Rafael Ronchi. We friended now too long ago after SRS recommended him to AFP. He started modeling, and I helped him on his 9R's with pics of everything from our 4, and am now helping him with pics of the Versatile. We now chat quite often and he has been grateful enough to give me him 9R and 9RT. I look forward to the release of his amazing Versatile 435! Thats all for now. Took me an hour to write I will write an intro of my farm life some other time

I'll go next. My name is Alan Polly. Born and raised in the north east part of Colorado. My dad drove truck and took me when he could and i've covered the lower 48 states in a truck. Ever since i knew what a truck was i've been absolutely fascinated with big machines (Trucks, Tractors, etc.) I found out about a game called 18 WOS Haulin (some of you will know the game) probably around 2010 and started my computer gaming with the 18 WOS series. Then around 2012 i stumbled across Farming Simulator videos on YouTube and was immediately hooked. I Played both 18 WOS and Farming Simulator till last year which is when i broke off from 18 WOS because i was burnt out on it and just got sick of running the same trailers back and forth to the same cities for 4 years. I'm slowly learning more and more about Farming Simulator and wanting to get into building my own mods and being a part of the community. Other than what i wrote above there isn't much more to say about me, i'm a pretty boring lol. Thanks for reading wanna know more? Of course you do! Just PM me.......Hahahahaha jk guys Alan

Right, that's a few longest introductions I ever read. Here I go! Back in the dinosaur ages in June 2011, I was surfing the internet on Youtube. I was trying to search for a way to farm myself without doing any damages to a precious toy of the farmer, especially around haying. I came across a video from steelseries22 sin kanal ( Video). I was very shocked by the realism, the ability to play, and I thought...Is that even a game I can play on this monster PC? I ran to my mother right this instant, and forced my mom to order Farming Simulator 2011. As the days passed, I watched more videos of how to play each series such as harvesting, baling, and cultivating. Boy, was I so into the game. Then eventually in about 2 months, I got tired of the stupid Deutzs and wanted some new green/red machines. I went around the Internet again, and tried to figure how to get more "stuff" in the game to enhance the game. I ran by the forum (the old version of FS-UK) LS-UK. I went around and saw tons of "mods" on there. I was a complete noobie back then, and spammed on the forum about everything of the game. I got restricted on there, then eventually I got my good reputation back by helping people with my LITTLE knowledge of fixing the problems. Then LS-UK got changed into the spanking new FS-UK and I joined AEM as I hated the old staff. I got into the Eagles Club very quick. But AEM got very quiet since the incident of Napalm quitting and almost everyone on the staff list resigned or quit. Shame some good moderators has left as well. But anyways, I've began editing around December 2011 and began modeling very recently as well. But I quit editing due to lack of time and patience. I tried out mapping and got around to the ability of editing. Then lost knowledge of doing that due to the whole situation of my parents' divorce in January of 2012. They were officially separated August 2011 (Which when I first registered an account on FS-UK). I was very depressed, and decided to quit full time modeling and has gone quiet until summer of 2013. I returned to editing and modeling partly and discovered F2013 was released. I was very behind as I just began my knowledge of FS2011 while FS2013 were a completely new game for me. So I decided to go to Wal-Mart and buy the new version. That's my whole old life. Now, time for my new life. I've been living in Nebraska my whole life since I was born in Valentine, NE. I grew up with 2 sisters, and 5 half sisters/brothers. Of course, I'm the baby of the family. I'm very spoiled, but has a nice personality that cares for everyone except if they have a easy way of pissing me off. Don't want to do that to a old moderator, eh! I'm currently 17, about to be 18 in May. (SO EXCITED!). I'm planning to attend college and seize my major degree in photography and minor in agriculture education. Sounds like a huge plan, eh? I live with my mom as she fought for my custody (Thank God Dad didn't). I'm very active in gaming, modeling, and about to get introduced in photography. As I'm very excited photography/agriculture education turn out to be a future for me, I'm devastated once again by my only grandfather death. I only met him because my three other grandparents died before I exist. Anyways, that's all for me to say. One of my pet peeves is that people say they will do this specific thing, but they never did. My favorite quote is quoted by Winston Churchill (You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.) Have questions/concerns about me? Feel FREE to contact me via PM! OH yeah, forgot to tell.....I'm deaf and PROUD! Andd......I'm PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Well, for me it started with John Deere American Farmer. One day I was on Youtube and saw a video for FS 2009. I immediately picked it up at the store the next day. I was hooked from then on. I soon figured out how to download the .exe files but I had no clue how to download .zip files to save my life. Then one day I figured it out and the addiction really started. I played FS 2011 and loved that game also! Then on to FS 2013 the one that really drew me in. I was playing like normal until I ran across JordanKeeps and Joe Lindberg on Youtube. Both of their videos inspired me to start taking screenshots and starting to participate in the community more. From Joe's Youtube page I came across AEM and there I met Serious, LMBFarmer, and JDB14, and many others. I'm sure I annoyed Serious plenty with all my screenshots questions lol. But If it weren't for him I probably would have quit taking screens. I'm really excited to see what this forum will blossom into! Anyway, just thought I would share my little story lol. Austin

I suppose i should go next I started playing fs in 2010 with fs09 and got hooked got fs11 in 2012 i met someone whilst playing mp and they told me about fs-uk and using mods i then created an account and started using mods. A few months down the line, i had been interested in the contracting side of fs and decided to start my own contracting team for fs11 know as H&M Contractors. I had always been interested in graphic design and started adding add-strips and changing textures of mods. A year ago or more or less cant remember i started talking to SRSMDS and we decided to start a modding team called SMW modding (serious mod works). I then had exams and didn't really go on fs i have since come back on fs. i recently Got asked by SRSMDS to Create a logo for OpenSourceFS and became the Official Forum Graphic Designer of this Great community. I have tried modeling but i didn't get on too well and really should start again hope this wasn't too boring. Very quick introduction.

Shall I post mine in a ZIP file?
So far we have JDB14, 677 words, Diesel Boss, 1006 words. So that means I should be just shy of 1500, eh?
EDIT: well, it was 2444 words lol
